Road Report - Road conditions and projects by county

Districtwide

A raised pavement marker project is under way, and crews will be replacing RPMs on the state highway system at various locations in the district. Traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers and/or arrow boards when crews are at work. The project is anticipated to be completed by late spring. (#13-0083)

Weather permitting, a districtwide herbicidal spraying project has begun, and crews are working along various routes throughout the district as weather permits. A districtwide guardrail repair project is under way, with crews replacing guardrail along various routes throughout the district as weather permits. A pavement marking project is scheduled to begin the week of April 29, and crews will be striping various routes on the state highway system throughout the district. Adams County

A pavement marking project is under way, and crews will be striping various county routes in the county. Traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers and/or arrow boards when crews are at work. The project is anticipated to be completed by late spring. (#13-0028)

A resurfacing project is under way on S.R. 125. The route will be reduced to one lane between C.R. 125A (Lynx Road) and the Adams-Scioto County line during daytime, business hours, and traffic will be maintained by flaggers when crews are at work. Brown County

A streetscape project continues along U.S. 52 (Second Street) in Ripley, between Main and Market streets. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained on affected streets with the use of flaggers as needed. (#12-0318)

S.R. 41 is reduced to one, 9-foot lane for a slip repair project at the 2.80-mile marker. The project site is situated between Slickaway Road and Poplar Street, approximately 2.25 miles north of Aberdeen. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of temporary traffic signals. The project is anticipated to be completed by early summer 2013. (#12-0628)

A streetscape project is under way along North Main Street in Ripley, between Second and Fourth streets. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained on affected roadways with the use of flaggers as needed. The project is anticipated to be completed in early summer. (#13-0005)

 

Fayette County

Old 35 A at Wayne Twp. is closed between Eyman and Fairview for culvert replacement for two weeks.

 

- The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will close US 62 west between SR 41 and the ODOT distributer road east of US 35 on January 28 for a little over a year for storm sewer replacement and repaving.

- - The posted detour is US 62 west to US 22 West to the ODOT distributer road to US 62 west or reverse. Local access will be maintained.

 

 

Highland County

 Kibler between Mad River and Hatcher Rd is closed until May 23 for culvert work.

Smith Rd. 1/2 mile South of Fairfield Rd will be closed until May 23, 2013 for Bridge Work.

S.R. 138 is closed at the 18.48-mile marker, just north of C.R. 79 (Selph Road), for a bridge replacement project. The project site is approximately 1.5 miles north of Hillsboro, and throughout construction, traffic will be detoured via U.S. 62 at Hillsboro and S.R. 28 at Greenfield. The project is anticipated to be completed by late summer 2013. (#12-0561)

A dual bridge replacement project continues on S.R. 321, and effective April 25, the route will be closed at the 3.97-mile marker, between T.R. 141 (Marconette Road) and T.R. 143 (Bell’s Run Road). (Operations are nearing completion at the 2.17-mile marker, between S.R. 134 and C.R. 2 (Gath Road), where the route has been closed for the first bridge replacement.) Throughout construction, motorists will be detoured via U.S. 62, S.R. 32 and S.R.

Jackson County

S.R. 139 is closed at the 12.28-mile marker, between S.R. 32 and T.R. 274 (Chestnut Grove Road),for a culvert replacement project. Throughout construction, motorists will be detoured via S.R. 32, S.R. 93 and S.R. 279. The project is anticipated to be completed in early summer 2013. (#12-0590)

Lawrence County

S.R. 141 is reduced to one, 10-foot lane for a slip repair project. The project site is located between Symmes Creek and Marion-Brushy Fork roads. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained with temporary traffic signals. The project is anticipated to be completed in mid-summer 2013. (#12-0677)

A slip repair project is under way at the 3.5-mile marker on S.R. 650. The project site is located between Tunnel Ridge and Pine Grove-Smokey Hollow roads. Traffic will be maintained in one, 9-foot lane with the use of temporary traffic signals. (#12-0639)

S.R. 650 is reduced to one, 9-foot lane at the 6.40-mile marker for a slip repair project. The project site is situated just south of C.R. 43 (Kelly's Mill Road), between the route's junction with S.R. 522 and the village of Hanging Rock. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained with the use of temporary traffic signals. (#13-0183)

S.R. 522 is reduced to one, 9-foot lane at the 5.30-mile marker for a slip repair project. The project site is situated between C.R. 41 (S. Buckhorn-Superior Road) and C.R. 27 (Little Pine Creek Road). Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained with the use of temporary traffic signals. (#13-0068)

S.R. 243 is reduced to one, 9-foot lane at the 16.00-mile marker for a slip repair project. The project site is located between T.R. 1182 (Fitzpatrick Road) and C.R. 32 (Eaton Road). Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of temporary traffic signals, and the project is anticipated to be completed in early summer. (#12-0638)

A resurfacing project is scheduled to begin the week of April 29 on S.R. 93. The route will be reduced to one lane between T.R. 258 (Kimble Creek Road) and the Lawrence-Jackson County line during daytime, business hours, and traffic will be maintained by flaggers when crews are at work. The project is anticipated to be completed by November. (#12-0498)

Construction for the Ironton-Russell Bridge replacement is under way, with work being conducted off affected roadways. As part of this project, portions of Jefferson and Third streets in Ironton are closed temporarily for pavement and sidewalk construction. In addition to localized closures affecting downtown traffic, motorists are advised of equipment entering and exiting the work zone in Ironton and at the U.S. 23 viaduct in Kentucky. (#11-0628)

Pike County

There are no lane restrictions or closures on the state highway system due to construction or maintenance projects.

Ross County

A resurfacing project on U.S. 23 at Chillicothe is nearing completion. Crews are completing joint repairs and bridge painting within the construction zone between the S.R. 104/Three Locks Road exit and the U.S. 35 bypass split at Chillicothe. U.S. 23 will be reduced to a minimum of one, 12-foot lane in each direction, and all work is anticipated to be completed in early spring. (#12-0151)

In conjunction with the U.S. 23 resurfacing project, the off-ramp from northbound U.S. 23 to Main Street will be closed while crews repair lighting at the Main Street/U.S. 23 interchange. The exit ramp will be closed from 7 a.m. to noon, and throughout the morning, traffic will be detoured via Eastern Avenue and Bridge Street. While all work is expected to be completed by noon, completion of the project will be contingent upon the weather.

S.R. 28 is reduced to one lane near the 7.0-mile marker for culvert/drainage repair as part of a two-lane resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained in one, 12-foot lane with the use of temporary traffic signals between Harper Station and Little Creek roads. Throughout the remainder of the constuction zone between Harper Station and the route's junction with U.S. 50, traffic will be maintained with the use of flaggers when crews are at work.

Beginning April 29, C.R. 600 (Massieville Road), south of Chillicothe, will be closed at the 3.06-mile marker for a bridge rehabilitation project. The construction site is situated between Maple Lane and Toad Hollow Road, and throughout construction, traffic will be detoured via Trego Creek Road, U.S. 23 and Maple Lane. The project is anticipated to be completed by mid-fall. (#13-0075)

S.R. 104 (South Bridge Street) is scheduled to be closed April 29 at the southern corporation limit of Chillicothe for a bridge replacement project. The bridge is situated over the CSX-Glatfelter Railroad, between Southern and Eastern avenues. Motorists will be detoured via Eastern Avenue and U.S. 23 to S.R. 104. The project is anticipated to be completed by late summer. (#12-0648)


Scioto County

A slip repair project continues on S.R. 139 in Portsmouth. Crews are repairing a slip at the 1.20-mile marker, between Munn Street and T.R. 165 (Hinkley Hollow Road), just south of the corporation limit. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one, 9-foot lane with temporary traffic signals. The project is anticipated to be completed in early summer. (#12-0566)

U.S. 52 is reduced to one, 11-foot lane in each direction between T.R. 569 (Old U.S. 52) near the S.R. 239 interchange and the Scioto River bridges at the Portsmouth corporation limit for a major rehabilitation project. The project work limits also include portions of S.R. 73, S.R. 239 and S.R. 852. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one, 11-foot lane in each direction, and ramps will be reduced to 10-foot lanes. The project is anticipated to be completed in early fall 2014.
