Wanda Y. McCoy, 73, of Grove City, Ohio died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at 11:15 p.m. at the Brown Memorial Home in Circleville where she had been admitted earlier in the day. She had been in failing health.
Mrs. McCoy was born January 11, 1940, in Ironton, Ohio to Kenneth Howard and Margaret Cora Collins Willis. She had lived most of her life in Grove City.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hesham K. Yaktin; by three sons, Jamel, Omar and Hanney Yaktin; a step-daughter, Tina McCoy and a sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Vincent Savoia.
Mrs. McCoy is survived by her husband, Thomas B. McCoy whom she married July 4, 1971; by a son Homan Yaktin of Circleville and his fiancée and best friend, Linda Garske; three step-children, Lana Runnels and her husband, Bob, of Washington Court House, Tim McCoy of Springhill, TN and Shawn McCoy and his wife, Theresa, of Waverly, Ohio; two grandsons, Nazeeh Yaktin and his wife, Sandy, and Rachid Yaktin; several step grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Wilma and Irwin Lyall of Patriot, OH, Mary and Buddy Meridith, of TN; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenny and Linda Plakaros of Maryland and several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation took place.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. at the Washington Cemetery with the Rev. E. Dean Queen, spiritual care coordinator for Heartland Hospice, officiating. Burial will be under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
