Velma L. Woods, 88, Greenfield died on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Court House Manor. She was born in Brown County, Ohio on December 7, 1924 the daughter of Gerald and Ruth Woliber Ellis. She married Lowell C. Woods on January 17, 1948 and he preceded her on June 1, 2010. She graduated from high school in 1942 and secretarial school. She was a legal secretary to Smith and Quance Attorneys at Law for 27 years as well as responsibilities as a farming wife. She was a 61 year member of the Good Hope United Methodist Church and a Sunday school teacher for many years and a member of the United Methodist Women. She is survived by her daughters Tricia (Steve) Shepherd, West Alexandria and Nanci (Bill) Sexten, Washington CH, twelve grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, siblings Verda Hollingsworth, Springfield, Gladys Martin, Sardinia, Ilene Stewart, Jamestown, John (Betty Sue) Ellis, Ripley, Shirley (John) Slack, Georgetown and Marlene Puckett, Georgetown and daughter-in-law Jonna Woods, Jamestown. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Phyllis Rea, son–in-law Edward Thomas Rea and two sons, Perrill and David Woods and a grandson Nathaniel L. Shepherd. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 11AM at the Good Hope United Methodist Church 4014 Main St SE, Washington CH, OH 43160 with burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Bowersville. Friends may call on Sunday from 4 until 7 at the church.
