BETTY J. DEERE, age 78, of Washington CH, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 4:42 p.m. at St. Catherine’s Manor.
She was born on August 21, 1934 in Washington CH to William and Mabel West Anschutz. She graduated from Washington High School in 1953. She married Raymond C. Deere in 1954. They lived and raised their family in Bloomingburg.
Betty retired in 1995 as a clerk for Water/Sewer Department for the Village of Bloomingburg.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers George, Paul and Bill Anschutz; sisters Mary Groff and Virginia Wilson and a brother and sister at infancy.
Betty is survived by her children Stephen C. Deere of Edgewater, Florida, Mary Beth (Gary) Lyons and Carol Anne Deere all of Washington CH; grandchildren Vincent C. (Jessica) Deere, Andrew and Michael Lyons and Mileah R. Mitchell; four great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and sister-in-law Sara Anschutz.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Sean Fox of the Grace Community Church officiating with burial to follow at the Bloomingburg Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
