Eleanor J. Rapp, 81, of Bloomingburg, died Friday, January 18, 2013, at 4:30 p.m. at the Court House Manor Nursing Home where she had been a patient since December 17, 2012.

Mrs. Rapp was born June 30, 1931, in Bloomingburg, Ohio to Joseph Baker and Nina Kelly Elliott.  She was a graduate of Bloomingburg High School and lived most of her life in the Bloomingburg community where she assisted her husband in the operation of their family farm.

She formerly worked at the First National Bank in Washington Court House and had been owner of the Martha Washington Shop.

Mrs. Rapp was a member of the Bloomingburg United Methodist Church; Fayette Garden Club; the Child Conservation League, Washington Court House Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Altrusa Club of Washington Court House and was a poll worker for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack L. Elliott and a grandson, Miles Mace.

Mrs. Rapp is survived by her husband, Roger E. Rapp whom she married August 23, 1953; four children and their spouses, Bryan Rapp and his wife, Marlene, of Upper Arlington, Teresa Witherspoon of New Holland, Jolene Cockerill and her husband, Dewey, of New Martinsburg and Beth Mace and her husband, Doug, of Washington Court House;  nine grandchildren, Parker Rapp, Dirk and Tony Witherspoon, W. J. (Lanita) Fannin, Tara (Mark) Moseley, Casey Cockerill, Hayley (Scott) Lovett, Morgan and Mariah Mace; six great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Nancy Elliott of Washington Court House and a sister-in-law, June K. Elliott of Washington Court House.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Bloomingburg Cemetery.  Burial will be under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
