Rhonda Lee Hecoax, 52, of New Holland died early Saturday morning, December 8, 2012, at her residence. Her death was sudden and unexpected.
Rhonda was born September 6, 1960, in Washington Court House, Ohio to Roger Lee and Barbara Lee Mongold Hecoax. She was a 1978 graduate of Miami Trace High School and was a lifelong resident of the New Holland community.
She formerly had been matron and jail cook at the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.
Rhonda was a member of the American Milking Shorthorn Society; had served on the Fayette County Life Squad; had been a dispatcher for the Pic-Fay Fire Department; assisted with the Soup for the Soul dinners at the New Holland United Methodist Church and was a former long-time 4-H advisor. She was a loving person and was always caring for others.
She was preceded in death by her father in 2009; her mother in 1988 and a brother, Gary Lee Hecoax in 1995.
Rhonda is survived by a son, Josh Cash and his fiancée, Brandi Cartee, of Washington Court House; two step grandchildren, Storm and Cheyenne Cartee; a sister, Deanna Hecoax of New Holland and a special friend, Maggie Overstake of New Holland.
The funeral will be Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in New Holland with the Rev. Malcolm Buck, pastor at the Atlanta United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the New Holland Cemetery following cremation.
Friends may call at the funeral home in New Holland Wednesday from 3-8 p.m.
