FRANCES EVELYN BUTCHER, age 91, of Bloomingburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at 4:08 a.m. at the Fayette County Memorial Hospital. She went rejoicing with her family that had preceded her in death including her parents, Gardner and Nellie Bennett Houser, her husband Leo Butcher, her sons Joseph and George Butcher, brothers Walter, Warner, Raymond, Charles and William Houser and sister Rowena Manns and Martha Houser at infancy.
She was born on October 14, 1921 in Darby Township in Pickaway County. She loved cooking, working puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren and all of her family.
Survivors include her children John (Judy) Butcher of North Carolina, James Butcher of Bloomingburg, Freddie (Pam) Butcher of Columbus, Orville Butcher of Washington CH, Leonard Butcher and Margaret Copley both of Bloomingburg, Mary (Kevin) Ellis of Wilmington and Martha (Rob) Scott of Bloomingburg; numerous grand and great-grandchildren as well as two great-great grandchildren; brother Harold Houser of Mt. Sterling, daughters-in-law Sharon Butcher and Becky Butcher.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Unity Fellowship Church, 4405 Prairie Rd., with Pastor Keith Clary officiating with burial to follow at the Bloomingburg Cemetery. Friends may call at the Summers Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.
