Hans W. Barg, 76, of Washington Court House, Ohio passed away Monday, December 3, 2012 at his resident as a result of heart trouble.
He was born in 1936 to Maria Wittman in Leipzig, Germany and managed to survive the hard times experienced by fatherless families in East Germany after World War II. As an adult, he worked in Hamburg, Germany and Zurich, Switzerland. His working career in Europe included jobs as varied as policeman, ship engineer in the German Merchant Marine and purchasing agent for a multinational steel corporation.
Since 1989 he had lived primarily in Washington Court House, although his greatest passion was travel, so he made frequent trip both overseas and in the United States.
He is survived by three sons, Christoph Barg at the Gallipolis Developmental Center, Stefan Barg and his wife, Astrid, and Torsten Barg of Zurich, Switzerland; two grandchildren, Noah and Stella Barg of Zurich; one remaining sister, Ursel Lemke and her husband, Helmut, of Berlin, Germany as well as his ex-wife/companion, Alice Craig of Washington Court House.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no visitation or service.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
