ROBERT C. KNOX, age 89, of Washington CH, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 6:40 a.m. at his home.

   He was born on November 29, 1923 in Catawba to Carl and Ruth Ballard Knox.

He retired from International Harvester and was a US Army World War II veteran.  He had attended the Gathering Place, was a member of the American Legion Post #25, VFW #3762, Elks #129 and the UAW #402.  He thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren.

   Robert was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Willard, Mary, Carl Jr., Dale, Garnet and Linda.

   Survivors include his wife Georgia Cave Knox, whom he married on March 12, 1947; his son Randy Knox and special friend Judy Armstrong; grandchildren G.R. Knox and Samantha Knox; siblings Tommy Knox and Roberta (Bobby) Stonerock as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

   The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with John Pfeifer officiating with burial to follow at the Fairview Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-6 p.m.
