The 40th annual Ernie Blankenship Telethon to benefit The Highland County Society for Children and Adults took the airwaves to raise money Wednesday night to help area families with their needs.
Through the four hour telethon they were able to raise $ 143,110. You are still able to donate money by dropping off your donation at any local bank. Through the telethon over the years they have been able to raise $2,829,471.
Organizer decided this year to name the telethon after long-time radio broadcaster Ernie Blankenship, due to his 39 years of working as emcee of the telethon.
