The Ernie Blankenship Telethon for the Benefit of the Society for Children and Adults gets underway at 6pm, Wednesday.
Hillsboro Rotary and the Society for Children and Adults have designated a new name for the annual radio-telethon: the Highland County portion will be known as The Ernie Blankenship Telethon for the Benefit of the Society for Children and Adults.
Ernie has hosted the annual telethon for nearly 4 decades.
"He's been the primary force between raising the $2.83 million that's been raised in the past 39 years and has just been a tremendous asset to both the rotary club and the society, and we wish to recognize him for those efforts," said Rocky Coss.
The telethon can be heard on Buckeye Country 105.5 and WSRW 1590. It'll be held from 6 to 10pm at the NCB Bank in Hillsboro. Greenfield Rotarians will hold their portion of the telethon at Greenfield McClain High School.
