Five high school students came to the aid of the elementary students also on the bus during a crash.
The Fayette County Sheriff says four teenagers played an instrumental role in helping younger children after their school bus crashed, Monday afternoon.
Those high school students, Wade Aills, Austin Salisbury, Layie Viassy, and Brandon Norgh, were on the bus as they attend the vocational school. Five students suffered minor injuries in the crash after the driver, 59-year-old Corene Cowdery, lost control on some loose gravel on the berm of the road.
Sheriff Stanforth says the investigation is ongoing and it's possible Cowdery could be charged with failure to control. The school district has placed Cowdery on leave during the investigation.
