Jason Walt defeats Geoffrey Phillips for county treasurer seat.

One of the closest races in local primaries took place in Clinton County where Geoffrey Phillips and Jason Walt were both vying for the Republican nomination for county treasurer. Jason Walt was the unofficial winner of that battle but by less than a 1% margin, so it is likely that vote will be subject to a recount. The winner will be unopposed in the general election.

In other races, Kerry Steed won the Republican nomination for one county commissioner seat and will face democrat Molly Dullea in the fall. The other county commissioner seat up for grabs was won by Mike Curry who won the Republican primary over Van Pratt. Curry will also run unopposed in the fall. Ronald G. Seaman garnered nearly 64% of the vote for the county coroner position.

Clinton County was kind to levies passing both the Clinton Combined Health District levy and the Senior Services levy by more than 70%.
