Stanforth Repeats as Fayette Sheriff

Voters passed the Miami Trace renewal levy.

Fayette County Sheriff Vernon Stanforth will be serving for four more years following Tuesday's election. The Republican defeated challenger Leonard Sines by a significant margin, receiving nearly 75% of the vote. 2013 will begin Stanforth's fifth term in that office.

The Miami Trace Renewal Levy passed by a 54% margin, the Union Township fire levy passed by nearly 67%, and a local option for Sunday sales at Wal-Mart passed by 57%.
