Highland voters were not kind to levies.
Highland County voters chose Randy Mustard over Josh Patton to run on the Democratic ticket for county commissioner in the fall. Mustard will face current commissioner Tom Horst on the Republican ballot.
Tuesday's primary also decided that Shane Wilkin will be on the Republican ballot to face Democratic challenger Brenda Losey for the other county commissioner seat.
Vickie Warnock won the Republican nomination for the Highland County Treasurer job. She will face Democrat Gary Heaton in November.
The Republican nomination for Highland County Recorder goes to Chad E. McConnaughey.
Highland County was not kind to levies; the county voted overwhelmingly against the Paint Valley ADAMH replacement levy; however, that levy ended up passing after all 5 counties' votes were tallied. Voters also failed the Liberty Township fire levy and the Lynchburg Police additional levy.
The Village of Sinking Spring did pass their renewal levy by a 3 vote margin.
