The NWS reported five possible tornados in southwest Ohio, Friday.
Tornado sirens blared in Chillicothe, Friday evening, even though no official warning had been issued from the National Weather Service. Tornado warnings were issued for Highland, Adams, Pike, and Scioto counties between 5:30pm-6:30pm, with reports of trees knocked down in Pike County.
Authorities say one person died in storms in southwest Ohio, where National Weather Service reports say at least five possible tornados touched down, according to the AP.
A county communications director, Kathy Lehr, said the victim was a man in his 50s from the Bethel area, about 35 miles southeast of Cincinnati. She said five to eight people have been injured.
