Area high school students are being recruited.

High school students who want to jump-start their college career can do so by enrolling in Ohio University-Chillicothe's post-secondary option program.

John Fisher, student services director at OU-C, says students cab take classes that produce double credit: "Most of the students are looking to make sure they fulfill their high school graduation requirements, but get some of the basic courses that are going to help them in any kind of four-year degree in college."

To be eligible, students must have at least a 3.5 gpa, rank in the top 25-percentile of their class, and have passed the Ohio Graduation Test (OGT) test.

Interested students should contact their guidance counselors and apply by May 1st.
