Officials from the Ross County Sheriff's Office say a new scam has hit the area.  The phone scam involves callers who identify themselves as part of the national
Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).  The callers accuse the victims of having bought prescription medications illegally from another country. They then tell the victim that for a certain amount of money, no charges will be filed against them.  Callers then ask the victims to send money to the Dominican Republic.

The DEA is working to identify those responsible for this scam.
