The Chillicothe Veterans Affairs Medical Center is surpassing other area hospitals in veterans care, according to recent patient surveys.
Many vets have an option as to where they get health care, but Chillicothe VA Medical Center Director Jeff Gehring said patient surveys are giving high marks to the local veterans hospital.
Gehring said that the survey given to in patients at Adena, Berger, and SOMC in Portsmouth asks, "Would you recommend this facility to someone else?"
"We score higher than those three facilities, which is good, and those are very fine facilities. so the competition is tough, but we have to be better," said Gehring.
A number of noted physicians as well as nurses have gone to the Chillicothe VA Medical Center within the last year from area private hospitals, which Gehring said speaks to their improved services.
