City council approved a handful of items Wednesday night
The Washington City Council held their last meeting of the 2011 calendar year Wednesday night. With the end of the fiscal year coming up, the council past on third reading to provide supplemental appropriations for the current expenses & other expenditures of the city for this fiscal year ending on December 31st, 2011.
Also approved on third reading was the appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures of the city during the next year fiscal year ending on December 31st, 2012.
Most reports given were very short but highlights from the recent Finance & Personal Committee Meeting held December 19th included:
Recommend a request by the City Administration to proceed in applying for a Federal Transportation grant to extend the trail from Washington Park to the YMCA facility.
Recommend after discussion that the 2012 proposed budget be sent to council. The Committee did specifically direct that the appropriation from the Eyman Park fund be increased to allow for the purchase of new bleachers.
Recommend a 3% contract increase for City Manager Joe Denen.
At the end of the meeting Dale Lynch was recognized by his fellow council members & was presented a plaque of thanks for his completion of his 2 year term as the Chairman of Council.
The city council will meet this Sunday January 1st at 12 Noon at City Council Chambers for their re organizational meeting for the upcoming year.
