About 600 people were transported by Goodwill via donated vehicles in the past year.

An organization with a mission of improving the quality of life and employment opportunities for people with disabilities and disadvantages is seeking vehicle donations for its transportation division. Keith Alcorn, executive director of Goodwill Industries, said his fleet takes those in an 8-county area to places like doctors appointments, the pharmacy, the grocery store, and work.

"We've done 37,679 trips this year, logged over a half a million miles, and we've done that mainly in donated vehicles," he said.

The fleet currently consists of 48 cars/vans, 4 buses, and 6 box trucks.

In addition, Goodwill is starting a computer-recycling program with Dell. Alcorn said those who want to safely dispose of any residential computers or their peripherals to drop them off at any Goodwill Store in South Central Ohio.

Any donation to Goodwill is tax deductible.
