Home owners are seeing fly-by-night tree service companies promising to do jobs they don't follow-through on after getting your money

Mike DeWine, Ohio Attorney General, reminds Ohioans to be wary of consumer fraud, one method perpetrated by individuals he calls "Tree Scammers". Once paid, the tree scammers cut down the tree and leave the mess for the owners to contend with, DeWine said.

The Attorney General expressed to Ohioans that his office is remaining vigilant in prosecuting those suspected of consumer fraud, and that if you feel you have been a victim of consumer fraud, to contact the Attorney General's office by calling 1-800-282-1505, or by going online to ohioattorneygeneral.gov.
