Pickaway County's Dwight Radcliff did not file for re-election.

Except for a four year stretch in the 1960s there has been a Sheriff Radcliff in Pickaway County for eight decades, but that could end as Sheriff Dwight Radcliff, the nation's longest serving, steps down.

Radcliff did not file paperwork to run for re-election to the position he's held since 1965. When he leaves office he will have served as sheriff for 47 years. His father, Charles Radcliff, held the office from 1931-1961.

The streak of Sheriff Radcliffs could continue. Lt. Robert "Robbie" Radcliff is hoping to follow in his grandfather and father's footsteps. He has filed paperwork to run in November.
