The gun-hunting season still has two additional days, scheduled for the Dec. 17-18 weekend.

(AP)  Rainy weather made has made this year's Ohio deer season a washout with the lowest harvest in years.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources says hunters using guns took about 90,300 white-tailed deer during the weeklong hunt that ended Sunday. The tally is down from 105,000 during the same period last year and from the roughly 117,000 deer bagged during the hunting week in 2008.

Deer project leader Mike Tonkovich with the state Division of Wildlife says in a statement that extreme weather-good or bad-can have a significant impact on the hunting season numbers.
