Hillsboro Police say it happened at 3:35am, Sunday.

Authorities were led on a high-speed chase, early Sunday. According to the Hillsboro Police Department, an officer saw a subject driving erratically on North High Street and Springlake Avenue at 3:35am. The officer attempted to stop the driver; however, the driver continued at a high rate of speed toward Greenfield on State Route 138.

The driver lost control and crashed into a ditch at the intersection of SR 138 and Bridges Road, but continued through the Leesburg area on US Route 62 toward Washington Court House.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office set stop sticks about 2 miles west of Court House on Route 62. The vehicle evaded the initial stop sticks, but became disabled after reaching a second set of stop sticks.

The suspect fled the scene, but was found several hours later by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.

The Highland County Sheriff's Office and State Highway Patrol also assisted in the incident.
