Fayette Robbery Arrest

The sheriff has charged a man with at least two recent robberies.

A Greene County man has been arrested and charged for two Fayette County robberies. According to Sheriff Vernon Stanforth, authorities were called to the Quality Inn on Carr Road at 3:38am, Tuesday, after the clerk said a man asked about renting a room. The subject told the clerk he was going to get his ID, but when he returned he went behind the register. demanded money, and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Authorities were then called to the Waffle House on Allen Road at 3:26am, Wednesday, after employees reported a robbery. The subject was said to have placed an order, approached the cash register, and handed the cashier a note demanding money. He left with cash, but employees were able to get his license plate number.

An investigation led authorities to Fairborn, Ohio, where police were able to find the vehicle, which belonged to 30-year-old John F. Pelfrey. He was arrested and charged with two counts each of robbery and theft.
