Hastings New Hillsboro Mayor

New Mayor Drew Hastings with Judge McKenna is pictured

Hillsboro received national attention for their Mayoral race. The unofficial results show that Comedian Drew Hastings will be the next Mayor of Hillsboro. Hastings received 1,008 votes and his opponent, John Levo received 614 votes.

Matthew Miller will serve as the new Mayor in the village of Highland in Highland County. Miller received 51 votes, defeating his opponent Jeremy Kibbey.

Danny Daulton will be the next Mayor of Leesburg. He defeated opponents George Phillips and Richard Tolle by receiving 163 votes.

Interim Mayor Roger Shaffer lost election to Robbie Wallace in Lynchburg as Mayor. Wallace won by receiving 263 votes.

Betty McElwee will be the new Brushcreek Town Fiscal Officer in Highland County. McElwee defeated opponent Pamela Crum by receiving 39 votes.

Marvin Resibois unseated Incumbent Randy Mitchell as Dodson Township Trustee. Resibois received 423 votes and Mitchell received 305 votes.

Fairfield Township will see a new Township Trustee. Andy Caldwell unseated incumbent Orville Newman by receiving 468 votes.

Fairfield Township Fiscal Officer Pat Hagen lost re-election to Tracy Evans. Evans won with 464 votes.

Steve Edingfield unseated Incumbent Carey Michael as the next Jackson Township Trustee by receiving 190 votes.

Carleta Weyrich unseated Incumbent Chris Michael as the next Jackson Township Fiscal Officer by receiving 192 votes.

Jerry Williams will be the next Liberty Township Trustee unseating Incumbent James Grove by receiving 1,078 votes.  

Dan Mathews will remain a Madison Township Trustee. He won over Lanny Bryant by receiving 672 votes.

Sherri Beatty unseated Incumbent Eleanor Snodgrass as the Madison Township Fiscal Officer by receiving 728 votes.

Dick Barrera unseated New Market Township Fiscal officer Caroline Surber by receiving 337 votes.

Joshua Matthews will remain the Paint Township Trustee by beating out Danette Mille with 298 votes.

Jason P. Davis will be the next Penn Township Fiscal Officer by beating Randy Houck and receiving 239 Votes.

Incumbent John Mootz will remain a Salem Township Trustee. He beat out Josh Barr by receiving 132 votes.

Nathan Brown will be the next Union Township Trustee beating out his opponent Rusty Herdman. Brown received 246 votes.  

Incumbent Arthur Harless will remain a Washington Township Trustee. He received 199 votes beating out his opponents Cory Myers and Gary Reno.

Incumbent Steven Cox won re-election to the Bright Local School District Board of Education. Cox received 586 votes. Also winning election to Bright Local School District Board of Education is Tammy Hauke and Mike Ames. They beat out Incumbent James Bishop and candidate Michael Ferguson.

Scott Bates, Ron Friend, and Mary Shope will serve terms on Farifield Local School District’s Board of Education. They beat out candidates Greg Carson, James Craycraft, and Troy Putnam.

Terry Britton and Jerry Walker will both serve terms on Hillsboro City School District’s Board of Education. Britton and Walker beat out Michael Salyer and Marilyn Hiestand. Britton received 2,375 votes and Walker received 1,887 Votes.
