A teacher and district aide were caught on tape bullying a "special needs" student
The Miami Trace School District has agreed to a $300,000 settlement on allegations that a teacher and school aide ridiculed a 14-year-old "special needs" student. The incidents were caught on tape.
According to the Columbus Dispatch, teacher Christie Wilt engaged in conduct unbecoming to the teaching profession when she made inappropriate comments to a student with disabilities and allowed a co-worker to make inappropriate comments to a student with disabilities".
The aid is Kelly Chaffins.
The teacher has been placed on probation and is required to complete eight hours of training in how to recognize child abuse and stop bullying. The aid has resigned her position.
