The accident occurred at US 50 and California Hollow Road, Monday.
A Frankfort man is dead after a three-vehicle crash on US 50 at California Hollow Road, Monday. According to the Highway Patrol, 66-year-old Ellsworth E. Trent was westbound on US 50 at 11:18am and was followed by the vehicle of 32-year-old Erik M. Champagne, of Midland. A third vehicle driven by 19-year-old Christopher A. Adkins, of Peebes, was eastbound on US 50 and went left of center, striking Trent’s vehicle head-on. Trent’s vehicle slid off the right side of the road, as did Champagne’s vehicle, which also struck Trent’s vehicle.
Trent was pronounced dead at the scene, while Adkins was taken to Adena Regional Medical Center.
The route was closed for 3.5 hours while law enforcement investigated.
