Candidates talk about their plans for city.

In just about a couple of weeks the residents of Hillsboro will be electing a new Mayor into office.  Republican candidate Drew Hastings says if elected he would develop a better relationship with the surrounding townships and the county. Hastings said that the surrounding townships and the county are a part of Hillsboro and always have been.

Hastings said if elected Mayor he would also work to make the uptown area more attractive to business by fixing the sidewalks and other buildings in the uptown area.

Independent candidate John Levo, longtime resident and former councilman, says he believes he has a good understanding of what the residents want for their city.

Levo said if elected Mayor he would like have more input from the citizens of Hillsboro and would create a ten year plan for the city based on that input.
