Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle

Deputy Joel Jenkins was driving the Crown Victoria that hit a 79-year-old man.

One man was injured after being struck by a law enforcement vehicle, Friday. According to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Joel Jenkins was westbound in the '07 Ford Crown Victoria on Temple Street just after 7am and attempted a left turn onto North Main Street, but struck a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, 79-year-old Charles Barton, was taken to the Fayette Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Deputy Jenkins was cited in the offense.
