Altercation leaves one man suspended and the other unemployed
A Highland County Sheriff’s Deputy has been suspended after getting into an altercation at a Hillsboro business. Highland Count Sheriff Ron Ward has suspended Deputy Chris Bowen, a sergeant with the Sheriff’s Office, for five days for his part in the altercation .
Sheriff Ron ward said that Bowen was with someone and someplace he shouldn’t have been and he was intoxicated.
Ward said," those ingredients lead to a bad situation that was embarrassing for me, embarrassing for my office and embarrassing for law enforcement in Highland County".
Bowen got into a physical altercation with 26 year old Kendi Jordon September 25th at the Ole Depot. Jordon, who was an employee at Job and Family Services in Highland County, has been dismissed from his job due to the altercation. Bowen will still have to appear before the Hillsboro Municipal Court October 5th on charges of disorderly conduct.
