Ohio set a record low in 2013, and that trend is also being seen in Fayette County.
Ohio has reported a big drop in traffic fatalities in 2013. According to Fayette County Sheriff Vernon Stanforth, traffic fatalities in the past few years have remained in the single digits with 5 in 2012 and 7 last year.
Sheriff Stanforth explains one of the big improvements has been the new U.S. Route 35. The Old Route 35 has numerous truck crashes, with many vehicles trying to pass on two-lane highway.
The Fayette County Sheriff's Office advises that to keep this number low everyone should drive carefully and eliminate distractions while driving.
