Authorities say Mark Puckett was acting in self defense when he shot Harry Holsinger earlier this month.
Investigators say a Hillsboro man who shot and wounded another man earlier this month was acting in self defense. On November 2nd, police were called to a home on Johnson Street, where an argument between Harry Holsinger and Mark Puckett escalated.
Authorities say Holsinger, who went to Puckett's front porch, had a stun gun and knife in his hands and approached Puckett in a "threatening and aggressive manner."
Puckett, who was armed with a handgun, backed up when he fired a shot that hit Holsinger, who was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Authorities say the dispute was over money owed to Holsinger.
