The public got another round of comments to city leaders on what they think should be done about the fire department
More public input Monday night on what should be the future of the Hillsboro Fire Department. Some in the crowd believe Hillsboro Fire Department is receiving the wrong treatment, or that there is animosity, and a lack of communication.
A handful of firefighters expressed concerns of low moral, little time off, hostile work environment and how many attempts have made made to talk discuss, and make agreements.
Hillsboro Safety Service Director Todd Wilkin says this issue revolves around city safety and finances and that numbers provided by the city auditor have been correct.
Last week, council voted 5-2 to pursue a contract with Paint Fire District for Fire and EMS service.
