Reflections on 9/11, hearing about beggar's night and maybe a one-way street on the horizon for Fayette Center Street
Washington City City Manager Joe Denen took some council time Wednesday night to remind citizens that Beggars night will be on Halloween, October 31st.
In other business, Denen presented the possibility of making the Fayette Center Street one way and encouraged residents to call or email their opinions of the matter. Denen added that letters were sent to those businesses in the area that would be effected.
It was also a time of reflection at Washington Council on a day when our nation remembers the events of September 11, 2001, 12 years ago.
The discussion consisted of remembering the victims and remarks on the tragedy included shared memories of where they were and how they heard. Councilmember Gordon Davis commented that the tragedy of September 11th will be something that will always stick in all our minds.
