The governor was on-hand Tuesday, to announce more jobs coming to the area
The southwest Ohio city of Wilmington was hit hard by the recession with the loss of 7,000 jobs alone when DHL left town.
Things are starting to bounce back, but it's a slow recovery. Gov. John Kasich was in town Tuesday to announce 140 new jobs and 50 others retained at Cole Taylor Mortgage.
The governor said "668 new jobs in Wilmington in the past 8 months and 461 jobs retained," noted Kasich. "If I do quick math, that's over 1,100 either jobs created or jobs retained in Wilmington."
The Michigan company is investing millions to expand their current facility there. Cole Taylor Mortgage is expected to generate $5.6 million in new annual payroll and $1.8 million in existing payroll.
