The cast of the outdoor drama Tecumseh! will participate in a July 28th fundraiser to help keep the Adena Mansion and Gardens open.
Local volunteer and wife of Ross County Common Pleas Judge Scott Nusbaum, Jan Nusbaum said, "In Chillicothe, we have to raise $140,000 a year to keep Adena open. Ohio Historical Society supplies the rest of the money, but they were going to close Adena 6 years ago, and a board of volunteers - my husband is on that board - chose to keep it open and have worked very hard in doing that."
Scioto Society's Beth Beatty, who produces Tecumseh!, said the special play called, Shadows of Destiny, was written by Marion Waggoner: "While the play is based on a lot of factual information, the thing about the script itself (is) people will leave with a sense of why they've actually come to Adena for this special moment in time to help support them."
The event includes a tour of the Adena Mansion home of Thomas Worthington, along with dinner and the production. It starts at 3:30pm, July 28th. Tickets, which are limited to only 500 people, can be purchased by calling Adena Mansion and Gardens at 772-1500.
