A total of 15 acts made up of of 18 students from both the Washington Court House & Miami Trace School Districts participated in the program.
Washington Court House freshman Skylynn Barden won the top prize Friday night during the annual Washington Court House Kiwanis Club Teen Talent Show. She performed the song " On My Own" from the play Les Miserable. Barden won $500 for her performance.
A total of 15 acts made up of of 18 students from both the Washington Court House & Miami Trace School Districts participated in the program this year which is an annual event that the Kiwanis Club has sponsored for the past 46 years. During that time over $100,000 in cash prizes & scholarships has been awarded as estimated over 1600 youth have participate in the event.
Piano solos took second & third place in Friday evening competition. Keisuke Ckakune Yamada captured second place & was awarded $400 & Dallas Debruin, a junior Miami Trace was third.
Hailey Hartshorn a freshman from Washington Court House will a vocal solo won 4th place with her version of the contemporary gospel number " What Do I Know about Holy".
Honorable Mention was awarded to Jennifer Frost, a senior at Miami Trace with a vocal performance of "Cry".
The Kiwanis Club at the start of the program honored Bob & Donna Cotner. Bob a long time member of Kiwanis Club had served as chairman of the Teen Talent Show for many years & along with his wife gave many hours of volunteer service for the event to be successful.
