The May 10th event is for parents of children who have diabetes.
The Fayette County Diabetes Association works to support those who have diabetes. Diabetes specialist Mary Dye said they are holding a networking dinner meeting at 5pm on May 10th in Medical Arts Building #2, and their hope is that it will allow those who attend to support one another.
"This is for parents of children that have Type 1 Diabetes," said Mary Dye. "This is an opportunity for them to come together."
The Fayette County Diabetes Association also raises funds to help those in need. For example, Dye said they help those without insurance with the cost of their diabetes medications.
"Diabetes medication can be so expensive, especially insulin," said Dye, who added insulin costs about $150 per vial.
