The Boyd Cancer Center is seeking help with bone marrow
The Boyd Cancer Center in Wilmington, Ohio is taking steps to see that cancer patients get the care that they need.
"Oncology Hematology Care, one of the largest independent cancer practices in the United States moved out of the Clinton Memorial Professional Building two years ago into the Boyd Cancer Center where they work hand in hand with CMH radiation".
Several local residents are in need of bone marrow and Jennifer Williams of the center spoke with us about the procedure to donate, which is very simple and not painful - it's essentially a blood transfusion.
Steps are in place to help the patients in need of bone marrow. An upcoming event will be held on May 5th from 11am to 4pm at the Lynchburg Fire Department where people can come in and get free cheek swabs. Williams encourages people to come get tested to help those in need.
