A local group is available for those need help
Violence and crime are apparent in many commuities and victims can not always handle the issues on their own. Sonia Haithcock of the Fayette County Victim Witness program says while crimes of violence often go unnoticed, it can be prevalent in one's life.
Haithcock says there are things to look for when suspicious of violence in a young person's life. Look for teens that withdraw from others, or those that receive texting from boy friends or significant others who are always wanting to know "where they are".
So many have been killed due to violent crimes, but several have survived. Haithcock says they will be remembering all victims at their 6th Annual Rememberance Celebration, which is April 23rd at 6:30pm in the Southside Church of Christ Family Life Center.
Fayette County Victim Witness is there to help in whatever the situation of violence may be. They are located on 133 South Main Street and can be reached at 740-335-8033.
