After a week, the Sabina woman was finally recovered.
The Wilmington Police Department has found the body of Casey Pitzer.
With assistance from the Wilmington Fire Department, she was recovered from the lake on the southeast corner of State Route 73 East and US 22 / US 3 around 5:30 a.m. today (Sunday).
She was located on the eastern side of the lake next to one of the ledges the department was told could pose a problem for sonar. Her body has been sent to the Miami Valley Crime Lab for autopsy.
32-year-old Casey Pitzer of Sabina, Ohio went missing last Sunday, March 17th.
They had several false hits which ended up being downed tree branches, and a false rumor of her body found after reports of finding a human hair.
Police Chief Duane Weyand also wrote in his news release:
"The family has been notified and our prayers go out to them.
"Our thanks to Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Ohio Department of Watercraft, Boone County Water Rescue, Loveland Task Force One, and the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office. I would especially like to thank the great work by our Service Departments here for the City of Wilmington. They went the extra mile to assist us.
