WCH Police apprehended Denard Smith, Wednesday.
A Washington Court House man is the suspected criminal in a rash of recent thefts. Officials with the Washington CH Police Department say 30-year-old Denard Smith is accused of stealing a vehicle from Norja Car Sales and damaging it while attempting to use the vehicle to gain access into Kay Jewelers.
He is also suspected in the theft of around $10,000 worth of property from Fox Jewelers.
Two nights ago, police say Smith got away in a foot pursuit in which Smith had dropped items that had been stolen from Cashland.
Smith was brought in for questioning, Wednesday, and has since been charged with 8 felonies and a misdemeanor for offenses including theft, breaking and entering, and vandalism.
He's being held in the Fayette County Jail.
