Authorities believe it was an accident

Authorities say a boy was injured after getting struck by a pellet, Monday afternoon.

Ross County Sheriff George Lavender says the situation appears accidental, and preliminary investigations led authorities to believe that the boy was shooting a pellet gun when a pellet ricocheted back and hit him in the head, causing him to fall and hit his head on the ground.

He was flown from the Bainbridge area to a Columbus hospital with concussion-like symptoms.
