Programs like Social Security and Medicare are in trouble if we don't.

While new income tax rates are in place, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said earlier this week that the changes are significant but maybe not enough.

Republican Congressman Steve Stivers, however, says the government has taken care of revenue and needs to focus on spending.

He adds federal programs, like Medicare and Social Security, are in danger of disappearing if their current systems aren't fixed.

Congressman Stivers says Medicare could become bankrupt in 11 years if lawmakers do not act now.
