PA Man Arrested in Fayette Firearm Incident

23-year-old Matthew J. Vonhofen of New Kensington, Pennsylvania was arrested after brandishing a firearm at fellow motorists.

A Pennsylvania man was arrested for improper transportation of a firearm in a motor vehicle in Fayette County last Friday.

Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a subject in a vehicle traveling north on Interstate 71, having displayed a gun to passing motorists. The vehicle was located and subsequently stopped regarding the complaint.

The driver was identified as 23-year-old Matthew J. Vonhofen of New Kensington, Pennsylvania and deputies located and confiscated a loaded handgun from inside the vehicle. Vonhofen was arrested and charged in the incident.
