Some nasty weather being called for Thursday night and Friday

Winter officially arrives Friday, December 21st and so does the weather that is wintry.

The National Weather Service is placing a Winter Weather Advisory for areas north of Ross County, where Pickaway, Fayette, Hocking and Franklin will be seeing up to 2 inches of snow and wind gusts up to 55 miles per hour. That advisory runs from 7pm Thursday to 10pm Friday.

Ross County and points south will see a Wind Advisory from 4pm Thursday to 4pm Friday, with blowing and drifting snow, accumulating one inch with wind gusts up to 45 miles per hour.

This system is part of a winter storm that created blizzard conditions in part of the upper Midwest.
