62 year-old Ronald W. Sturgell Sr was charged with three third degree felonies.
A Jeffersonville man has been charged with sexual assaults of two minor victims over the last six years.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, 62 year-old Ronald W. Sturgell Sr was charged with one count of sexual battery, and two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor - all third degree felonies.
This was in the Washington Court House Municipal Court on November 7th.
Sheriff’s detectives began an investigation November 4th, following a complaint from a woman alleging that Sturgell had been sexually assaulting her over a six-year period. The victim, now 18 years old, alleged that the incidents took place from when she was twelve or thirteen years old, up to about three weeks before making the report.
Detectives also identified a second person who was allegedly sexually assaulted, who confirmed that when she was fourteen to fifteen years old, Sturgell allegedly engaged in sexual activity with her in the Jeffersonville area.
Sheriff Stanforth said the investigation continues as detectives gather information on acts and timelines.

Sturgell was arrested November 7 at his residence. He posted bond on all charges and was released from the Fayette County Jail on November 9.
Sturgell is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on November 20.
