The Thursday AM raid was on Delaware Street

Members of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Washington Court House Police Department, executed three search warrants Thursday morning at the Heidler Apartment complex located at 812 Delaware Street in Washington Court House. The search warrants were executed approximately 10:08am.

According to Sheriff Vernon Stanforth, the search warrants executed were the result of a lengthy drug trafficking investigation between his office, and members of the US 23 Major Crimes Task Force. Deputies, agents of the Task Force, and Washington Court House police officers executed the search warrants without incident.

During the search of the apartments where warrants were issued, an undisclosed amount of heroin, marijuana, and cash were confiscated. A few guns were also recovered and confiscated during the searches. "It was a successful operation. No one was injured and we were able to take some drugs and guns off the street," said Stanforth.

"A couple of the apartments were found unoccupied during the execution of the warrants and deputies are continuing their investigation," said Stanforth. No arrests have been made at this time in connection with these search warrants.

Deputies will be working closely with the Fayette County Prosecutor’s Office as the progression of this investigation continues.
